Flower Bombs by Yumi & Taka!

It's been a little while since I last visited the Feeling Fuzzy? blog, but this new video by the Dear Plastic team made me feel I just had to share this with anyone who might still pop by occasionally!

Dear Plastic is Yumi & Taka, two of my very creative friends who run workshops and encourage people to think about how making can be done in a sustainably friendly way!

Yesterday they put up a new video about their recent Flower Bombs which you may have seen if you'd gone along to the recent Sydney Finders Keepers Markets or the Kaleidoscope Art Markets that are on right now...

Paper Flowers Around the World...

One of my favourite illustrators, Anna Emilia, has a lovely example of how to use tissue-paper flowers as gift-decorations...

Thank You Whip Up!

Wow! The flowers were mentioned on Whip Up this week and I didn't even relaise it! I'm usually checking out their crafty tips every second day, but somehow missed our little blooms.

I have to re-mention that these flowers came out of a book that Yumi borrowed from the Mosman Library. I'm not entirely sure which book but if anyone knows I'd love for them to contact me so I can give the author proper credit.

Travelling Flowers...

Gosh, it looks like the tissue paper flowers are travelling the globe!

Thanks so much to Linda for posting up her flower studio in Brighton.

Learn to Make Paper Flowers!

Yumi and I started making these paper flowers about a year ago. We taught ourselves from a book (Yumi, do you remember the name??).
My friend Phoebe reminded me that I was going to put up a little guide to share the flower love.
This is my very first movie so I'm a bit proud!
Enjoy...

Petra Storrs - Paper Magician

While over at the blog of lovely Felicity Gleeson I found she had posted a little stop-start motion film by Petra Storrs. "Who is this lady of paper magic?" I wondered aloud... A little googling led me to seeing some of her other quite nice paper-work in numerous places... what a divine world she creates! Turns out Petra is a set slash costume slash stage slash prop-designer who has worked with Emiliana Torrini, Friendly Fires and a bunch of other creative types.

Thanks Felicity for sharing with us...
